The Almost Irish Band

Greetings! Welcome to our little piece of the internet! We are a fun-loving (small) group of guys who are enthusiastic about playing and singing Irish music, along with a few other types. We do other Celtic music, particularly Scottish tunes, and almost always mix in some "old time" (Appalachian string band type) music. Bluegrass is something that we occasionally do by bringing in other musicians as the occasion warrants. We also do Civil War era music. We're capable of doing an entire show of period music, and certain groups do regularly book us to provide music for things like Civil War reenactments and period dances. Last but not least, we sometimes do a certain amount of "hard to classify." [smile] Depending on what the customer wants, we can do some wide-ranging stuff, even oldies made famous by the Everly Brothers, the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and so on.
The Almost Irish Band features Tim Chadwick (guitar, vocals), Gary Chilton (hammered dulcimer, pennywhistle, vocals), and Roger Stamper (fiddle, bass guitar). The shows are filled with exciting fiddle tunes, the unique and haunting sound of the hammered dulcimer, solid rhythm from the guitar, and delightful vocal numbers.
Please see our individual bios. If you are looking for some good entertainment for your event, regardless of what "genre" you have in mind, please do contact us. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
